This design of the Aztec symbol is a small detail of the entire wall that we produced to reflect our culture inside the third floor of El Mercado . The concept is to introduce to the guests as much of Mexico as possible showing the versatility of Mexico in arts and culture.  Panel above was designed by Eddie Martinez.

Plexiglas etched by hand using a grinder or mototool and fixed with fiber optics. All seven panels measuring 4' x 8' were unique in design.

Plexiglas etched by hand using a grinder or mototool. There were 7 panels produced to be used with fiber optics which created an impressive display in the restaurant, El Gallo, that has a theme of Jalisco, Mexico. Each panel measured 4 feet by 8 feet and a 1/2 inch thick.

Detail of the north wall designed by Eddie Martinez and produced at Goez for El Mercado, third floor.

These decorative panels along the North wall on the third floor of El Mercado were designed Eddie Martinez. I produced the ceramic tiles at Goez. After the first firing, applied 24 karat gold and fired the tiles again.

This is a view of the walkway alongside El Tarasco restaurant after the revitalization and decorations of the third floor. After designing the tile floors, I went to Oaxaca, Mexico to purchase the tiles for all three floor areas in the building.

Here is another detail of the ceramic tile work depicting the Aztec shields that had different coat of arms made in colored feathers.

After I designed this room, I selected the marble and granite to be used for the floor, walls, and sink. We cut all the marble trim for decoration.

Another view of the ladies bathroom at El Mercado de Los Angeles. The bathroom doors were specially designed and framed in wood.

This is the basement/first floor of El Mercado showing colorful patterns on the floors and walls. My hope was to prevent graffiti and destruction of the walls.

This picture shows a full span of the mural at the stage of the El Gallo Restaurant at the top floor of El Mercado de Los Angeles. There are 5 vanishing points in this mural.

Joe Gonzalez is shown here working on the selection of tiles for the designs for the North wall on the third floor of El Mercado.
